Power and torque, as with many topics, are simple to understand, if explained concisely.
Force is mass times acceleration. (translation)
Torque is force times arm distance. (rotation)
(note: at that arm distance Force = Torque)
Work is Force times displacement. (translation)
Work is Torque times displacement. (rotation)
(note: displacement along the circular path)
Power is Work divided by Time.
You can't always overpower something simply by ;increasing power', the force component of power has to exceed that of the load.
